The leaves are falling and the air is getting crisper. It's time to embrace the fall season and get ready for the inevitable freeze. If you’re looking for ways to unwind from an activity-filled summer, here are some ways to enjoy autumn ... the cozy way!
1. Spend Time With Friends
One word: U-Pick. Fall is officially the most instagrammable season, so grab your bestie, head a couple kilometres outside of the city and pick yourself some apples.
Or go leaf peeping and take some pictures with the fall foliage, pumpkin spice latte in hand. After all, this is what autumn is all about! Your friends are the people who make you smile and feel all good inside, so why shouldn’t you include them on your journey to pure coziness?
2. Get cozy with your favourite book
The best cold-weather perk is that you don't have to feel guilty about staying inside and getting lost in a good book. Some best-selling books such as 'Becoming' by Michelle Obama and 'Where the Crawdads Sing' by Delia Owens are great books to dive in and read. So this is the time to light up a candle, make yourself a cup of tea, and let yourself unwind.
Movies, audiobooks, or just listening to music can spark those relaxing fall vibes. If you're on the hunt for some spooky shows to watch, Stranger Things on Netflix is an all-time favourite. Also, keep your eyes peeled for Disney Plus, Netflix's rival. Be prepared to binge watch movies, as it will have theatrical blockbusters like Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar.
3. Go on a road trip
Escape to a town or a national park nearby with lots of trees so that you can admire all autumn leaves and the wildlife. The fall colors are at their brightest, so there's no better way to explore and admire the fall foliage than being inside your car with some relaxing tunes. If you’re into photography this is a great opportunity to capture the lovely fall colors. So get out and explore that town you've been wanting to see before all the autumn leaves, well ... leave.
4. Shop for new autumn clothes
Sweater weather is in full effect. Time to bring out your fuzzy sweaters that have been hiding in your closet, and shop for some new additions! Whether its a new warm scarf, cozy socks, or a new wool jacket!
5. Have some me time
Autumn is that season where you feel like everything is truly changing: fall leaves, the weather, fashion, and—most importantly—yourself. Take some time for yourself to sit back and reflect on what you've learned and experienced throughout the beginning of the year up until this moment. Make yourself a bath, throw in a bath bomb, and ease into this new stage of your life.
